Audit success highlights excellence in resident care and service

The village’s reputation for quality care and services was reaffirmed by the very successful audits conducted across the village in late 2025. In Independent Living, the three-yearly RVA recertification audit was undertaken, while Sarah Selwyn care home underwent its Ministry of Health interim (‘spot’) audit. Both went very smoothly indeed and we received positive feedback from the auditors.

In addition, our Ivan Ward Centre passed its full certification audit with flying colours and was highly commended in particular for its approach to palliative care, reducing antibiotic use and falls prevention. Again, there were excellent comments from the auditors regarding, for example, our quality and risk management provisions, clinical education and infection control, as well as for the Ivan Ward team in general and our wider allied health practitioners.

These exceptional results, in addition to those for our financial audit, reflect the substantial work and effort that take place all year round. The expertise, dedication, care and attention of all our village teams directly benefit our residents and strengthen our whole village community. Combined with our strong and ongoing focus on Health and Safety for everyone who lives, works or spends time at the village, residents and families can be assured of our quality practices and procedures and unwavering commitment to providing superior care and service at all times.
